No matter what your style is, these eight things should be included in everyone’s closet.
- Safety Pins
These could make the different between a fab outfit and an “oh no she didn’t”. How many
times have you ran out of the house in an outfit you were sure was going to be a hit but because it kept moving around you ended up showing off to much skin or you were having to adjust it the whole time? If the dress you have on keeps moving or you’re wearing a jacket that is part of the outfit, use a safety pin to pin pieces of clothing together. This will eliminate some of the adjusting you do every time you move in that particular outfit. Safety pins are also great in case of a snag or rip. Most likely you can find a way to cover the snag with just a pin. Beware though: don’t wear anything that has a rip or tear. You may love the outfit but if it has a malfunction that is very well noticed, that will be the only thing you focus on and you won’t have as much fun wearing the item if it were to be in one piece.
2. Black, White and Cream tank tops
It is always a good idea to have different colored under shirts in your closet. You never know when something you bu
y is going to be to sheer or need something a little extra underneath it. Having different colors of undershirts will allow you to do it for any shirt or outfit that needs one.
3. An Iron
One major thing that is a distraction on a great outfit is if it is wrinkled. No you don’t have to iron all your t-shirts, but make sure that you don’t have huge wrinkles in blouses, dresses and pants. It’s a good idea to have an iron and a small board around so you can avoid having those unprofessional wrinkles in you clothing.
4. Tide pen
I always seem to spill something on my clothes while I eat, am touching up my makeup, or when I am running late and spill my coffee because I am speeding. Even if you are not prone to spilling or getting dirty it is always a great idea to have a tide pen handy. You will enjoy your outfit way more and all day long if it stays clean.
5. Hair spray
Not only does hair spray keep your hair due a complete do but it will also help with snags in panty hose and tights. Rips and tears are not really ok for tights and stockings. That can be very unprofessional and almost tacky. Unless they are made to have rips they really shouldn’t. Fishnets are more made for costume party’s but if you find the right outfit for them and a great pair, go for it girl. Be careful of where you wear them though. It also is a great tool for static cling.
6. White seamless panties
You never know when a pair of pants or dress is going to be to shear. Just in case have a pair of white seamless panties to wear underneath a fab outfit. You won’t be able to see what you are wearing underneath and be able to rock the outfit of the day.
7. Finger Nail polish
Nothing would ruin a great pair of shoes worse than a scuff or scratch. Having finger nail polish handy will help you gets rid of any scuff and it will be easier to find a color of nail polish faster than a shoe polish to match. Don’t put too much but just enough to cover up the scratch.
8. Chalk
Yup, chalk. This will help get out those pesky grease stains. If you accidently get grease on your clothing draw some chalk over the stain and the chalk with soak up the grease and it will be easier to wash later.
“Oh no she didn’t!” tip of the week: Fish net stocking should not be worn to any professional events. These aren’t really considered professional. I am even an offender of this “Oh no she didn’t!” I wore a pair of patterned “holey” stockings to my high school graduation and when I got out of the car a young boy pointed at me and said, “Look mom a hooker!” I was mortified! That doesn’t mean I won’t ever wear them again, just not in such a professional setting.
