Life Through the Hourglass
Time rushes by like sand through an hourglass
Each second represented by a tiny grain of sand
Never slowing down always protected by the clear glass around it
Closely monitored by those peering through
Stopping only when it reaches the end of its cycle
Its life restarted when it’s turned upside down by those who love it
But when the glass is shattered, time speeds up
It is spilled onto the floor in one sudden movement
Time stops
Returning to where it came from,
A simple pile of sand scattered upon the ground
