ZTA Glow Run

Zeta Tau Alpha is hosting its annual 5K run at 8 p.m. Friday.

Zeta Tau Alpha is committed to raising money for breast cancer education and awareness, and 100 percent of the money raised will be donated to the organization’s chosen charities. To learn more about ZTA’s philanthropy and service, go to zetataualpha.org.

“Honestly, this cause is very near and dear to my heart and the hearts of the girls in Zeta Tau Alpha,” said Marissa Mowrer, ZTA director of philanthropy. “We want to make a difference in the lives of women everywhere. We, as Zeta Tau Alpha, will continue fighting until pink is just another color.”

ZTA members will be passing out race packs that will include T-shirts and glow sticks to each runner. Runners also are encouraged to wear bright neon colors and pink gear.

If Zeta Tau Alpha reaches its $3,000 fundraising goal, Campus Life Director Draco Miller, Roosevelt County Sheriff Darren Hooker, and ZTA members Azzia Candelaria, Kelsi Dodson, and Marissa Mowrer will have pies thrown in their faces.

The registration fee is $15 for ENMU students, and $25 for everyone else. Participants can register until the day of the event. Participants can bring babies in strollers and well-behaved dogs on leashes at no additional charge.

The event will begin at the Dallan Sanders Patio outside of the Campus Union Building and will take place around the Eastern New Mexico University campus.

Awards will be given for best times, most Think Pink spirit, and most glow spirit. An award for the best bra from the second annual bra-decorating contest also will be given.
