I think everyone has had the line go through their brain that they don’t deserve something. Whether it’s a new job, a competitive internship, or even a position in a student organization. Believe me, I have been there. We have all been there. After having these reoccurring thoughts, I decided to do some research of my own to achieve real authentic happiness.
I watched Tony Robbins “I’m Not Your Guru” on Netflix, which sparked a hunger for change to alter my thoughts and my mindset for the future. This documentary follows one of Robbins seminars, “Date with Destiny,” where people across the globe travel to meet Tony to gain a better understanding of their life and why their thoughts and actions are holding them back from their true self.
Aside from the documentary, Robbins also has a website where he posts about happiness and how to alter our thoughts into positive ones to achieve what we want. For instance, “Ultimately the way we feel determines the quality of your life. You could have whatever you think life’s dream is—building a billion dollar enterprise or a family that totally loves and adores you.”
I wanted to apply these practices into my everyday life and to start a positivity challenge. I found one here. The website gives insightful tips on how to use positivity practices every day, and they are easy to accomplish. I encourage everyone to try this for seven days and see how your life transforms.
Once we start creating the life we want, our life’s purpose really aligns. I always thought of myself as an extremely positive person despite the curve-balls that have been thrown my way. Nonetheless, I still piled an insane amount of stress and worry onto myself. It was hard for me to let go and believe by some divine miracle that things really do work out. The thing is, being stressed and worrying about something will not do you any good. There is not an outcome, just more stress and being worried.
