It’s that time of the semester where everyone is feeling particularly stressed. We’re in week 12, which leaves us with just 4 weeks left before finals, and if that didn’t get your heart racing then you’ve either given up or seriously well prepared. Either way, everyone deserves a spa night before the panic of finals fully sets in and none of us can sleep, but most of us don’t have the money to drop on a real spa day, so here are some tips to have your own spa night for less than 10 dollars. But first, you’ll need to take a trip to Dollar Tree and Walmart.
At Walmart you’re going to want to take your pick of the face masks. They usually have plenty for whatever your skin concerns are, and they usually aren’t more than $2.50. Then head over to where the incense are and grab whatever smells nice. They have cheaper packs that come out to about $1.00. If you have a little more money to spend and are over the age of 21, you can go ahead and pick yourself up an alcoholic beverage.
Now that you’ve gotten what you need from Walmart, head over to Dollar Tree. Never underestimate the power of Dollar Tree, you can find some real gems there and even though I rag on it a lot it’s actually one of my favorite stores.
Pick up a bath bomb, a nail file, some polish and whatever snacks you want. Obviously the nail polish and file are optional, but I find it’s nice to dedicate some time to take care of your nails. This should come out to under 10 dollars. Head back home now to get your spa night started.
Now that you’ve made it back to wherever you call home, give your face a good scrub down with your favorite face soap while your tub is filling up and add the bath bomb. Light the incense and put on the face mask before you settle down with a meditation playlist for a long soak.
Once you’re thoroughly pruned and your bath water is cold go ahead and spend some time doing your nails before you curl up with your snacks and your favorite book, movie or tv show.
We all get stressed, and it’s important to let yourself wind down every once in a while. Spending a little bit of money, or none if you already have everything you need, is the least you can do for all the hard work you’ve been doing the past 11 weeks of the semester.
