How much evil can be in the world at one time?
This weekend my nephew, who is here visiting from Mexico, showed me a live video on Facebook where they were torturing an individual. I asked why are they doing this? It was of six men all dressed in army gear and face masks, holding AR-15s and machete knives. He said it was the new cartel moving into the town where he lives and are taking over. He explained to me that they all moved into the town of Cuauhtémoc to be exact (this also where my husband is from) because it is the opening to La Sierra. La Sierra means mountain range, and the area is covered with trees and mountains, where the cartel resides. There is a war in this town for the meanest, most powerful cartel to take over and rule. It takes no prisoners, and it is very evil. They accept soldiers who are younger and younger every year; it is the saddest thing. How are these kids are raised from infants with so much hate and evil? They are desensitized and no longer feel when they hurt someone. When I watched this horrible live video, I couldn’t help but think of the boy’s mother; what pain she must be enduring knowing this is her son and how did he get to this place.
I arrived at work today and decided to get on Instagram. Boom! Another horrible picture of dead little children in Israel, tiny little babies. How do people begin to want to hurt these tiny little innocent children? What has this world come to? How is evil just roaming so freely now? Why can we not stop all these cruel things from happening? Have we never feared that we will have to answer for such things? I cannot begin to understand someone taking someone else’s life. I was told long ago by someone I cannot recall right now that if you ever take someone’s life, you also take their sins. To take a child’s life is unforgiven, they are angels they are pure.
I sat in my room listening to Britney Spears’ new book “The Woman in Me” and couldn’t concentrate because I had watched a Tik Tok video in which a lady recently found her daughter after she had been missing for almost a month; she was found strangled and nude in a shallow grave. How do you get to a point to do that to someone–what gives you the right? Sadly, this beautiful young girl was murdered by her narcissistic boyfriend, whom she was fixing to leave, so he made sure she would never leave him again.
But speaking of Britney Spears, have you read her book? I am left speechless by it. You just never know how people live behind closed doors. I always thought Britney was beautiful, kind, and must have the most amazing, marvelous life. Boy, was I wrong. This beautiful young star really lived a nightmare and now is just trying to recover from all the damage someone else inflicted on her.
Maybe the world is finally coming to an end. I always thought it ended for someone every day, now I am not so sure. Maybe long ago, that one pastor at Fellowship Baptist was right: God is coming back riding on a white horse sounding trumpets everywhere and cleansing this earth. How sad for all that are alive and do not repent or see anything wrong with what they do. It will be a sad day for us when those trumpets sound, and you hear the horses coming. How do you explain to Him all you have done? How do you face him knowing He saw all you did, when you knew you were doing wrong? Do you cross your fingers and hope He doesn’t know you are fibbing? Do you smile and hope He isn’t too upset? What will you do? How do you explain? I guess the answer lies within your heart and thoughts. I have had many. I beg constantly for my forgiveness, but then I turn around and wrong others with my actions, thoughts, and words again. When do we learn?
God be with us all and forgive us, for we know not what we do.
