The wind in New Mexico blows and blows
It messes up your hair and curls your toes
It plants dirt in your ears, eyes, and up your nose
Animals hide not even a bird crows
The grass dries up and blows away
Flowers bend in half almost as if to pray
Hoping for a shower, a light mist, or spray
